Miss Amanda |
Amanda Bernett graduated from Northwestern University with her bachelor’s degree in dance, as well as in biology concentrated in physiology. With fifteen years of training in the art and skill of acrobatics, tumbling, and dance, her passion is to lead developing movement artists in self-discovery, advancement of skill, and confidence in performance. As an acrobatic and tumbling instructor, experienced in training and spotting beginning through advanced skills, she advances the artistry of dance through the emotional and physical intensity that acrobatic tricks, lifts, and flexibility bring. Beyond her acrobatic expertise, Amanda has had over a decade of study, choreographic practice, and performance experience in the genres of Acro Dance, Hip-Hop/Urban, Jazz, Musical Theater, Lyrical, Tap, Cheer, and Poms. After 3 years as a performing company member, choreographer, and master class instructor for Northwestern’s premier musical theater jazz group, Steam Heat Dance Company, she brought the company to new levels as its president. Through her extensive hip-hop practice in the studio setting, experience as member, captain, and choreographer of a competitive varsity cheerleading team, and four years as performing member, choreographer, and master class instructor for Northwestern’s elite hip-hop group, Refresh Dance Crew, Amanda brings new spice to dancers’ hip-hop swagger. Always thrilled to teach and inspire, Amanda furthers her students’ movement vocabulary, versatility, and artistic expression.
