Miss Madelyn

"Madelyn Walmsley was trained in various styles as a recreational, competitive, and all-star dancer since the age of three at Dancer’s Edge Studio in Shelby Township, MI. While at DES, she achieved 15 UDA National Championships, 6 USASF World Championships, and several individual accolades at regional competitions. She graduated from Alma College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Dance. During her time at Alma, she served two seasons as one of the Alma College Dance Team captains. With ADT, she was named a 2-time NDA All-American and earned 6 NDA National Championships, 2 DTU College Classic Championships, and a 2022 DTU Battle Cup Championship. In addition to her involvement with the dance team, Madelyn was a member of the Alma College Dance Company. There, she showcased her talent in pieces choreographed by modern dance instructors and gained insights into the educational aspects of movement. She is a fourth-year staff member for the National Dance Alliance, where she gained experience working home, resident, high-school, and college camps. Along with additional positions working combines, competitions, special events, content crew, and summer curriculum. Outside of her role with NDA staff, Madelyn is a choreographer with BTuck Choreography. This marks her sixth season with the company, during which she has created a variety of routines for high schools, colleges, and studios in styles such as Jazz, Pom, Hip Hop, Team Performance, Contemporary, and GameDay. As a choreographer, her routines have ranked regionally and nationally throughout the country. Madelyn now dances professionally for the Chicago Bulls as a Chicago Luvabull and remains committed to her training to enhance her abilities as a teacher, mentor, and choreographer. She actively imparts her expertise by conducting master classes throughout the Midwest and showcasing her talent in various performances with Detroit dance crews. As a teacher and mentor, Madelyn is committed to ensuring her dancers understand the purpose and drive behind their movement through expert guidance and technical proficiency. As a choreographer, she challenges the creativity of the dance industry through musically complex and visually appealing routines. She is dedicated to fostering an uplifting and challenging environment where dancers are encouraged to express their individual selves and pursue both technical and performative growth."
