Miss Sarah grew up in Glenview, attended OLPH, and in the spring of 8th grade, began practicing with Varsity Loyola Poms, as their singular incoming freshman. She danced for her high school team for 2 years, performing on the Universal Dance Association’s National stage in Orlando, Florida, where the Ramblerettes affirmed their status amongst national rankings and made their name as one of the country’s most elite high school dance teams.
Meanwhile, she continued to pursue a strong curriculum at Driven across all styles of dance, including ballet, pointe, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, lyrical and tap; as well as teaching her own classes as a student teacher when she turned sixteen. When Driven2Dance decided to introduce a competitive company to the studio, Sarah changed her focus to compete for Driven, as one of the Company program’s first dancers. She danced with Driven through graduation, and concluded her competitive career as a National Title Winner for her Senior Contemporary Solo, “Inner Light,” and as the featured dancer in the Company’s First Place National Champion titling winning performance, “Sea of Doubt.”
Sarah went on to attend Miami University, in Oxford Ohio, where she earned degrees in both Spanish Linguistics and Public Health, with a minor in Nutrition. She danced for the MU Hip Hop Crew joined a sorority, and even spent a year living abroad in southern Spain, Seville, where she achieved her goal of full Spanish fluency.
Since returning to Chicago, Sarah has been busy pursuing her second passion as a professional actress. Recent work includes an episode of CNBC’s American Greed, several big-name company advertisement roles, commercial print modelling, and most notably, her casting as “Rocky,” in the Netflix series Soundtrack, produced by 21st Century Fox. Sarah says that working on Soundtrack was a dream job come true…she not only had the opportunity to work alongside actors Jenna Dewan (who plays her roommate, Joanna) and Paul James (Samson,) but also to dance with them both as well as a talented cast of other LA based dancers.
While continuing to audition regularly for TV and Film work, Sarah remains dedicated to Driven and all its students whom she loves. In addition to working in the office and managing much of the day-to-day of the studio, she is the Co-Director of the D2D Company, as well as a teacher of ballet, tap, lyrical, jazz, and hip hop.
